My issue with AI Avatars begins and ends with body movements. We can get deep into discussions about facial expressions, tone, voice, intonation, etc… but the most glaring issue to me with AI Avatars is body movement. Most realistic avatars take a video recording of a person that lasts seconds to minutes. This movement then repeats on a loop.
The movements do not match what is being said. Our human eyes catch this and either find the movements “creepy” or “unsettling” or just “wrong”.
